On March 23, 2013 the Drill team visited a NJROTC drill competition at Rancocas Valley High School. After a long eventful day of competing, out unit took home 1st place for New Cadet Basic, a team of all first year cadets. All in all, it was a fun day and an overall memorable experience with top performances from all who competed.

Another successful drill competition for the NJ-20003rd, bringing home another two trophies -- placing in Academic and Unarmed Basic -- to add to the collection. After a long day of competing, each cadet gave their 100% and prospered from the dedication and discipline that they showed during their performance.

The annual military ball went off with a bang on March 3, 2013. It was a night full of fun and dancing, and enjoyed by all who attended. Below are some photos from the night to showcase what a great time all our cadets and their guests had on that wonderful evening.

On December 8th, a Saturday, our Drill Team woke up before the sun and dressed in their blues to participate in the first Drill Competition of the year at Delsea Regional High School. After a short bus ride, we arrived at the Competition ready to compete. Our unit participated in Inspection, Unarmed Basic, and both Unarmed and Armed Color Guard. Although we did not place at this Army JROTC Drill Competition, it was a great experience for all the first year cadets who took part.

On December 6, 2012, the NJ-20003rd was invited to the Board of Education meeting to be recognized for their outstanding performance in the Unit's October 10th inspection. Several cadets attended the meeting and received a note of appreciation for their hard work that helped our unit "Exceed Standards" in the unit's inspection. On behalf of everyone in the NJ-20003rd, we appreciate every cadet who helped make this high honor possible. Everyone is extremely proud of our unit's success.

On Nov 29, 2012, C/MSgt Mark Winkelspecht conducted the first BCT (Basic Cadet Training) Graduation Ceremony in front of WHS on a chilly November day. But not even the cold could stop these dedicated cadets from graduating. BCT was designed by C/ Winkelspecht specifically for the NJ-20003rd Drill Team. The course spans out over several weeks and is designed to teach cadets who wish to join the drill team skills and information they will need to know to be successful on the Drill Team and as future leaders in AFJROTC. The course consisted of Physical Training, a Leadership Obstacle Course, and Basic Drill Lessons. After weeks of hard work, the dedication of these fine cadets has finally paid off. Here are photos that showcase these cadets on their hard journey.

"Please don't scare me!" cried a little blonde boy in his Halloween costume as an ROTC cadet dressed in BDUs and camouflage face paint crawled over to him. Our crawling dead zombie cadets gave out candy and screams at the annual Haunted High School held at WHS on Halloween. The volunteers enjoyed the tricks while the children enjoyed the treats. With a big turnout (the line to enter wrapping all the way down one side of the school!), the event was an overall success, keeping the spirit of Halloween alive while giving back to our community. Another successful event for the NJ-20003rd.

Cadets showed their spirit dressed in the blues at the WHS 2012 Fall Pep Rally on Friday, 12 Oct 2012, where the four-cadet Color Guard presented the colors for the opening of the day's events.
