Competition Teams
All cadets are encouraged to take part in one or more of our competition drill teams. Members of the drill team learn basic military drill movements to preform at Drill Competitions, held at other high schools with JROTC units. The discipline and dignity of our drill team has brought home numerous trophies for our Unit. Practices are held after school.
Unarmed BasicThe Unarmed Basic team performs a sequence of basic drill movements, and are judged based on their execution of the movements, sharpness, and military bearing.
Unarmed/Armed InspectionThose who are on the Inspection Team are expected to know a wide range of information. On top of knowing basic knowledge questions about the history of the Air Force and JROTC, they are expected to know the current Chain of Command, current events, and various other pieces of knowledge. Then, during Drill Competitions, these cadets perform an open ranks inspection, in which Inspectors will question them on their knowledge, and examine their military bearing.
New Cadet BasicExclusively for first year cadets, this team of new cadets preforms the same routine as the unarmed basic team with a smaller number of cadets in the formation, and is also commanded by a first year cadet.

Honor/COlor GuardNot only does our Honor Guard compete at Drill Competitions both armed and unarmed, they also have the duty of presenting the colors at various events throughout the school year. This includes our Annual Military Ball, Honor Flight, School Pep Rallies, and more. Only a select few are chosen to perform this very important duty.
(PT) Physical Training TeamThe Physical Training team is just as its name states. Cadets on this team train their bodies to perform a minimum of standard exercises, which includes, running, push-ups, pull-ups, and sit-ups, in a set amount of time. Even cadets who do not wish to compete, and are just looking for a way to get in shape are encouraged to join the PT Team during training.
AcaDemic TeamThe Academic Team usually consists of two cadets who prepare a PowerPoint Presentation on a pre-determined topic. After their presentation, they take a written test on basic History, which includes a wide range of topics, including current events. Their score on the test combined with the quality of their presentation determine their overall placement towards winning a trophy.
